I’d like to explain this as an exploration of the dynamics, the power-play between the brothers, but as I’m not convinced that anyone would really believe that, it’s probably best to look on this more as a pure PWP. As I seem currently to be suffering from writers' block, across all fandoms, this was a way of responding to that wonderful line in 'Crossroad Blues' (and I'm not saying which line, because I don't want to spoil it for anyone who isn't yet watching Season 2). The hunt that triggered this transformation is based (very, very loosely) on a Pawnee tale that involves two brothers, transformation into a snake, and subsequent snake/brother embracing. This is a little slash ficlet that I wrote to help me find my way into the characters, rather than to share. But I watched Skin and Shadow for the first time a couple of days ago, and found that some of the lines in those episodes were eerily similar to lines I had written in this. Even though it needs editing, I don't want to touch it again having seen the episodes and alter it through their filter. I'm putting this up here as a bit of a curiosity more than anything else.
